Missions

“We have different gifts based on the grace that was given to us.” Romans 12:6

Erwin First Mission to UgandaEach of us has something to give. We can give our friendship to someone who is sick or lonely, our time to helping others, or our money to our favorite cause. At Erwin First, members use their God-given talents in many ways.

Safe Space for Kids
Erwin First provides a safe space, activities and free meals for neighborhood children ages 8 to 12 for one week during the school break each February.

Erwin Nursery School and Universal Pre-K
We maintain an enriching, safe environment for Erwin Nursery School and Universal Pre-K for more then 50 neighborhood children and their families.

Food Giveaways
During the growing season, we visit Matthew 25 Farm in Tully to harvest and distribute hundreds of pounds of fresh vegetables. This past August, we gave away more than 2,500 pounds of food on our front steps! We’ve also hosted praise festivals that include groceries distribution, and sponsor a monthly food collection for the pantry at University United Methodist Church

Teen Challenge Dinner
Each Christmas, the people of Erwin First host a potluck dinner for the men of Teen Challenge, a faith-based drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility

In addition to missions directly administered by Erwin First, our large, carefully maintained building allows us to host several non-church community organizations and events.
